HISTORY OF KEEP ‘EM RUNNIN’

 After 30 years experience in providing mechanical services to family, friends, and others in the community by doing “side jobs”, Mike Daniel was inspired to further share his mechanical expertise by mentoring the next generation in basic mechanic techniques. His plan was to help them learn as much as they were willing to, thereby giving them the opportunity to take steps toward entering the trade. After a couple of years, the Daniel’s backyard was a well equipped shop for working on small and large engines. It was a place where family and friends could work together and help others receive much needed repairs (they bought the parts, labor was free). 

 Mike was an employee at Kennedy Space Center for 33 years as a quality inspector, the last 15 years as a Lead Quality Inspector. His position there requires him to problem solve and plan work schedules. In 1999, he began considering early retirement and decided to begin a mobile lawnmower repair business. Business boomed, leading him to open a parts shop in July of 2003 and shortly after renting a bay for doing repairs. 

 When the parts store opened, his wife, Cindy Daniel, joined Mike in the business, as manager of the parts store. Cindy came on board bringing her 15 years experience in purchasing and customer service and 2 years supervisory experience. The business thrived quickly during their short “1/4 season”, resulting in the need to look for a larger facility to handle the increase in customer base. 

 In February 2004, Keep ‘em Runnin’ moved into a 6000-square foot facility allowing space for a large showroom, parts section and two fully equipped multi-station mechanic bays. Two more mechanics joined the team, and additional customer service staff came on board. In 2008 the facility was completely renovated and Keep ‘em Runnin’ also signed in its ten thousandth customer. Keep ‘em Runnin’ continues to provide quality service to its customers whether in purchase of parts, purchase of new lawn equipment, or service and repair of equipment.
